Panini America Launches Panini College for College Athletes

Panini America, a leading trading card and sports memorabilia company, has recently unveiled an innovative platform named Panini College. This new venture is designed to provide college athletes with the exclusive opportunity to have their own trading cards under the renowned Panini NIL brand. The introduction of Panini College marks a groundbreaking moment in the world of sports memorabilia, giving athletes the chance to showcase their name, image, and likeness while also earning compensation based on the sales of their trading cards.

The concept behind Panini College is to create personal trading cards for college athletes from partner universities, offering them to fans for purchase. These trading cards will not only serve as collectible items but also as memorable keepsakes for fans and supporters of the athletes. An exciting feature of Panini College is the inclusion of exclusive autographed versions of the trading cards, providing a unique and sought-after item for collectors.

Initially, Panini College will feature football and volleyball players from three prestigious schools – Ohio State University, University of Nebraska, and University of Texas. However, the company has ambitious plans to expand the program to include more schools and various sports disciplines across the country in the near future. This expansion will give a multitude of college athletes the chance to participate in Panini College and have their own personalized trading cards available to fans.

The official launch of Panini College is set for Tuesday, September 3rd, with the platform being accessible at college.paniniamerica.net. Fans can anticipate a continuous release of new products and athlete cards throughout the academic year of 2024-25, ensuring a diverse and dynamic selection of collectibles for all sports enthusiasts to enjoy.

Jason Howarth, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Athlete Relations for Panini America, expressed the company’s dedication to providing every collegiate athlete, regardless of their school, sport, or position, with the opportunity to have their own trading card. The introduction of Panini College aims to revolutionize the trading card market for athletes in all sports by offering them a platform to benefit from their name, image, and likeness. As Panini College expands to include more schools and sports, it will open up new avenues for athletes to gain recognition while offering fans access to exciting and exclusive collectibles.

Panini College builds upon Panini’s established presence in the collegiate NIL landscape, continuing the company’s commitment to supporting athletes in their pursuit of recognition and financial opportunities. Notable partnerships have been formed with prominent athletes, showcasing Panini’s dedication to empowering athletes in the collegiate sports arena. The collaboration with athletes like Lexi Rodriguez from the University of Nebraska, the first female NIL athlete for Panini, and other rising stars such as Quinn Ewers, Tre Johnson, Arch Manning, Dylan Raiola, Julian Sayin, and Zachariah Branch highlight Panini’s focus on promoting talent and diversity in the trading card market.

In addition to Panini College, Panini America had also previously launched the Caitlin Clark Collection earlier in 2023, celebrating the remarkable career of the University of Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark. These initiatives further emphasize Panini’s commitment to innovation and its leading role within the collegiate sports trading card industry. With the introduction of Panini College, the company continues to strengthen its position as a pioneer in the ever-evolving market of collegiate NIL, offering athletes new opportunities for recognition and fans a fresh and engaging way to connect with their favorite sports personalities.
