Exciting Sports Card Releases to Keep Collectors Busy Indoors

As winter weather forces many sports enthusiasts indoors, collectors of contemporary hobby items can look forward to a series of exciting new sports card releases. From pre-draft football cards to hockey and baseball sets, the next few weeks offer a diverse range of options. Let’s take a closer look at what’s coming up in the world of sports cards.

On January 12, 2024, football card enthusiasts can dive into the SAGE Low Series Football set. Despite the lack of team logos, this pre-draft release from SAGE is a must-have for football fans. Each box contains 16 packs, with an autograph and seven cards in every pack. Keep an eye out for the new SP Kaleidoscope Autographs and the Next Level autograph cards featuring on-card signatures. You can find hobby boxes selling for under $130 on eBay, and blaster boxes are also available.

The 2022-23 Upper Deck ICE Hockey, although branded for the previous season, is now hitting the shelves. Each box offers 12 packs, with six cards in each pack, usually including an autograph or memorabilia card. Notable features of this set include hard-signed Ice Premieres Auto and Auto Patch cards, as well as a 250-card base set. Signature Swatches cards add a unique element with hard-signed autographs and game-worn jersey swatches. These boxes are currently priced around $125.

Mark January 17, 2023, on your calendar for the release of Bowman’s Best Baseball. This set focuses on prospects and rookies, offering 12 packs per Hobby box, spread over two mini-boxes, and guaranteeing at least three Chrome autograph cards. This year’s edition also features an insert set by Hall of Famer Randy Johnson. The best eBay price for these boxes is currently $289. Alongside Bowman’s Best, 2023 Leaf Metal Draft Baseball will also hit the market on the same day.

After a delay from its original October release, Topps Stadium Club Baseball is finally set to hit the market on January 24, 2023. Known for its photo-focused 300-card base set, this set is a visual treat for collectors. The Hobby box versions of this set are available for $148. On the same day, you can also look forward to the release of 2023-24 Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey, promising two autograph and/or memorabilia cards per box.

January 26 brings two exciting releases. First, we have the 2023-24 Panini Donruss Basketball, offering fat packs and the beloved Rated Rookies. Hobby boxes include ten packs, each packed with 30 cards, and guaranteeing one autograph. Additionally, 2023 Panini Phoenix Football will be released on the same day. With boxes containing two autographs, one memorabilia card, and various other collectibles, this set is priced in the $300-$350 range online.

These upcoming sports card releases offer collectors a variety of options to add to their collections. Whether you’re a football, hockey, baseball, or basketball fan, there’s something new and exciting for everyone. So, grab your favorite hot beverage, cozy up indoors, and get ready for some hobby fun with these thrilling sports card releases!
