PWCC Impresses with Record-Breaking Michael Jordan Card Sale

In the world of sports card collecting, PWCC Marketplace continues to make waves. Their November Premier Auction featured another impressive sale, this time involving a highly coveted Michael Jordan card. The 1998 Skybox Premium Stars Rubies edition of Jordan’s card was sold for a mind-boggling six-figure sum of $216,000, setting a new record for this rare parallel card.

The 1998 Skybox Premium Stars Rubies card is known for its scarcity and uniqueness. With only 50 cards produced in this particular edition, it holds great value in the eyes of collectors. This specific card now ranks as the second most expensive Star Rubies card ever sold, further solidifying its significance in the hobby.

The 1998 release holds special importance as it features Jordan in his final year before retirement. This makes cards from this set particularly sought-after by collectors and fans alike. The cards’ attention to detail, with intricate foil designs and edge-to-edge artwork, adds to their appeal. However, due to their fragile nature, these cards are also prone to wear, making them even rarer to find in top condition.

The record-setting Jordan card at the PWCC auction received a PSA 7 grade, which indicates its excellent condition. Only four cards of this type have received this grade, with a mere five others graded higher. This scarcity only adds to its allure and value, making it a true gem for passionate collectors.

The November Premier Auction didn’t stop at the Michael Jordan card, though. Other impressive sales include a PSA 1 (MC) graded 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 card, which sold for $35,400, despite its imperfect condition. Even in its less-than-perfect state, the historical significance of the card drew considerable attention.

Record-breaking sales weren’t exclusive to basketball and baseball cards. A Kobe Bryant 1999 Upper Deck Game Jerseys patch auto card fetched an impressive $32,700 at the auction. Collectors and fans of the late basketball legend continue to seek memorabilia that pays tribute to his greatness. The auction also featured a 2020 Topps Dynasty F1 card showcasing Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, which sold for $20,400. Clearly, the allure of collecting extends beyond traditional sports.

PWCC Marketplace’s November Premier Auction showcased its ability to bring together passionate collectors and offer a platform for unique and rare items. With the historic sale of the Michael Jordan card and other notable pieces, it cemented its place as a premier destination for sports card enthusiasts.

In a hobby where rarity and significance play a crucial role, PWCC continues to unlock new opportunities for collectors to acquire prized possessions. The record-breaking sales at this auction are a testament to the enduring allure and value of sports cards, transcending time and connecting collectors to their favorite athletes and memorable moments.
